Tips on How to Better Your Internet Business

An important part of being an internet business owner is working on the areas you love and delegate the other areas which will ultimately help you better your internet business.

Some sound advice from our CEO, Jennifer Varner, is to pick an industry you’re passionate about and become an authority in it. The advice holds true to all facets of your new website business.
My journey to becoming a web host and designer started, like you, in ecommerce. I owned two retail websites that were fairly successful, but I found myself designing and updating my web design more than focusing on my product lines. I even offered my design services to other online retailers (for next to nothing) simply because I enjoyed it. That eventually lead to my “ahha” moment. Design and web hosting technology were my passions. I sold my sites and began working in an industry that I truly loved.
Our design team has the pleasure of working with driven business owners every day. Often we find that this drive leads clients wanting to do it all – including becoming a webmaster and designer.
Does this sound like you? If so, know that your dedication is admirable. I was once there! But before trying to tackle an entirely new field, step back and take a look at the broader picture – tips on how to better your internet business…..
Knowledge is Power
I encourage all business owners to educate themselves on all aspects of webbased business, then decide if they’d like to tackle the bigger projects. It’s important to understand what these tasks entail.
Pure-Ecommerce Learning Lab is a growing addition to our service lineup. The Learning Lab supports ecommerce business owners who wish to become more self sufficient. These quick and easy lessons are a fantastic way to dabble in the aesthetics of your site, and a great way to take a break from other daily tasks.
So give them a try and check back often for new courses.
Delegate, Delegate, Delegate!
Remember why you wanted to become an ecommerce entrepreneur in the first place? Freedom!
You already know that having a successful ecommerce business is a lot of work. That’s why Jennifer gives the advice, up front, to choose what you love. It paves the road to being happily independent and finding fulfillment in your daily work.
As with any business, delegation is a crucial component of success. Essentially, outsourcing work is delegation. Getting help is such a simple way to reduce some of the stress that comes with owning a new business. While the side benefit is that you’ll free up some of your own time work your business, do the things you love, or spend with your family and friends. What could be more valuable?
Is getting help going to cost you? Of course! But, what is your time worth? The time you may spend on learning to design a website is valuable. It’s time that could be spent updating your SEO, your product line, or your social media.
