Tips to Achieve Your Goals in 2020

From Dream to Reality: The Power of Goal-Setting

By: Bailey Holtz

Goals: we have so many of them, but rarely do we see them through to fulfillment. Why is that? Often, we set unachievable goals for ourselves. We set too many goals for ourselves and can’t pursue them all at once. Plus, we become distracted by the minutiae of our lives and lose track of them. Too many times we don’t set concrete parameters around our goals. Therefore, there is no way for them to ever be accomplished.

In short, there are so many more ways for our goals to go wrong than to go right! That is why we at Pure-Ecommerce want to provide you with a roadmap toward successful achievement of all your goals. With a little bit of thinking, a little bit of diligence, and a little bit of mindfulness, you can turn all your wildest dreams into a reality. We know from experience!

Setting goals is particularly important when it comes to our professional lives. So often, we let years of our precious existences slip by. You keep working in the same old nine-to-five but don’t really even like it. Then you become complacent and comfortable, but never truly happy. That’s when we let our jobs provide us with all that we need to survive. Meanwhile, the lives we truly desire are still with us in our thoughts every minute of every day. We are just waiting for us to grow the courage to seize them!

We want you to be able to seize them! Stop settling for a life half-lived and take the leap of faith toward your dreams to love what you do!

1. Take Time to Reflect!

Before diving head-first into a career in pottery or farming, stop and take a breath! You need to be sure that you aren’t committing yourself to a path that isn’t a true career goal of yours. According to Mindtools, it is critical that you set goals that motivate you in the long-term. This means you’ll have to dig into your soul. It’s time to examine what matters to you on a fundamental level.

Write down goals both large and small that you have held for many years. They can be both profound, for example, “I want to be fully in control of my own life. And simple, “I don’t want to commute anymore!”.

If you’re struggling to do the sort of introspection needed at this step, here is a helpful worksheet that will get the juices flowing! Answer the prompts and soon you’ll have a better idea of who you are and what truly matters to you.

For many professionals, the concepts of autonomous work and self-reliance are hugely important. No one likes to feel beholden to a giant corporate overlord. That’s why so many people are turning to the internet to start their own businesses. Simple, effective, and completely under your control, online businesses allow you to achieve your goals—plus some you didn’t even know you had!

2. Pick The Goals to Pursue

Once you have a list of your goals, you will have to pick which ones to pursue at this time. While we are big believers in goal-setting and think it has the power to radically transform lives. We also know its limitations: you just can’t pursue all of your goals at once.

This step is often considered to be the most difficult. Because we don’t want to pick; we want to achieve all our goals right here, right now! Letting go, even temporarily, of any of our goals can already feel like a failure. Don’t let it! Gently put aside any negative self-talk; it does not help anything or anyone—certainly not you! Instead, make a list of your goals in order of priority. The lower numbers can happen later!

Also, take a look at this Medium article by Chris Sparks. It contains some prompts that can help you order your goals well. For instance, it asks that you consider what “you would do in order to lead the most unsatisfying life?” Priority, then, will be to get rid of all the things that make your life unsatisfying!

3. Be S.M.A.R.T.!

S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timebound. Once you have decided what your goal is—to start an online business, for instance—you need to be smart about it! Don’t just drop all your commitments and leap into the great unknown. This may lead to you falling for a long time!

It is important to carefully set parameters for your goal and give yourself a leg-up. Put a plan in place to achieve your goal the S.M.A.R.T. way!

  • Specific: Start by setting a specific goal. For instance, you have a passion for home design so you want to open an online furniture business.
  • Measurable: To make your goal measurable, you will need to set metrics for yourself. That’s where Pure-Ecommerce can help. We offer our clients exceptional learning tools through our eLearning Library. You will be able to work through our 10-step process at your pace. This will help you have more measurable results as you start your business.
  • Achievable: Be sure you are setting a goal that is achievable. Often, we set goals that are far too high, thus dooming ourselves to failure. You can’t expect to have business success overnight. When starting an online business it takes time, dedication and hard work to get your business start. Get in touch with us and we’ll explain more about our process and how you can get started!
  • Realistic/Relevant: This means your goal is something you truly care about and is attainable. Plus, it means you feel the goal will help you grow as a person.
  • Timebound: Perhaps this is the most important component. Being timebound means you set time limits on the achievement of your goal. Otherwise, you might spend the rest of your life slowly inching towards it, and never fully reaching it. The team at Pure-Ecommerce is here to encourage you to keep yourself on track as you work through our process. It is up to you to work at a pace that best fits your lifestyle and ultimately achieving your goals of becoming an ecommerce entrepreneur!

It can be difficult to set good goals for yourself and sometimes you need some support as you move towards them. You’ll find a comprehensive overview of the S.M.A.R.T. method at, and you’ll find a cheerleader and supporter at Pure-Ecommerce!

Or perhaps you lack organizational skills and are often defeated by your inability to locate an important document. It doesn’t matter what they are or how many you have. Motivational Quotes to Inspire You to Be the Best YOU in 2020!

By: Bailey Holtz

New year, new you, right? That’s the old saying? But what if you don’t feel like a new person yet? What if you don’t have the “oomph” you’ve been hoping for to kick off the new year? What if you’re still in hibernation-mode, not yet ready to seize the chance at a fresh start?

Firstly, feeling sluggish during the winter months is completely normal! According to News in Health, the National Institute for Health’s monthly newsletter, many people feel blue and unmotivated around the holidays and the winter. Luckily, in most cases, these feelings can be cleared away by a little sunshine and some helpful motivation from your friends at Pure-Ecommerce

If you’ve got the blues, we’ve got just the words to get you back to your happy, productive self again! Here are 50 motivational quotes we adore. They always get us up and raring to go, on even the coldest and darkest of mornings!
